Work OOTD

Yet again a work outfit post and yet another casual Friday. The day I look forward to the most. Not because the weekend is approaching, but because we get to dress down a little. How amazing! So since I wanted to wear my stretchy black pants the second time before washing, I went for an all black ensemble with a pop of 'denim'. Wore a black singlet with a higher neckline to balance out the outfit. Since the denim is sleeveless, it would be a little too casual with a plunging top.

Nerd Travels // Wandering In Brisbane City In Autumn

If you can't tell, it was burning hot in Brisbane during my stay. Where did Autumn go?! My first day in Brisbane was a Saturday and also coincidentally was Anzac Day. I wasn't sure what day was it at that time, but it is Australia's most important national commemorative occasion. Roads were blocked till noon, churches were flooded with people at 4:00am in the morning & shops were all closed! I was actually glad it was Anzac Day because blending in the crowd watching the parade, eating bagels as I walk around town and clap hands celebrating national day the Australian way was so much fun. Also, thank goodness several restaurants were open or else I would have to starve. So this is what I wore:

Weekend Ootd // Cobalt Dress

9 May
Welcome to the 1st ootd blog post in May! Saved this dress for a slightly more special occasion than shopping for groceries so yesterday was the day. Since we were going out for a nice dinner, I thought why not dress it up a little then tone it down the New Yorker way? Wore this gorgeous off shoulder dress with a slouchy sequin clutch and new monochrome kicks. Heading out for breakfast now! Happy Sunday people <3

Weekend Ootd // Ripped Jeans

Who does not love ripped jeans like I do? Okay fine...It's definitely not everyone's cup of tea haha. So the past weekend was a long 4 days break from work and most of my time was spent well with my family and family. Had to say it twice because I glued myself to them, literally. I am jetting off again soon for a short period of time. This time round would be the longest I've been out alone. Anyways, back to the topic! Those damn ripped jeans. Told my mum so many times that this pair of jeans was one of my best purchases made. It is so worn-in that I could sleep in it. Not even joking. Lmao.

Jeans - Pull n Bear [Similar Here]

I've gotten so much tanner since I came back from Aussieland. Thanks to the beautiful sky and happy sunshine. Getting fairer now already but still, there is a huge contrast when I wear white or as I stand in front of a white wall. Hah! Bought a new product to try out, gonna give this a go. Happy Saturday everyone <3

Nerd Travels : Weekend Ootd // Brisbane

25th April
Checked the weather in the morning and it was gonna be sunny and hot at about 27 degrees and it would only chill down in the evening. So I thought, the lesser the better. LOL :p Went for a cut-in slinky dip hem top with ripped jeans, silver glitter oxfords and an edgy flannel. The pop of yellow brightened up the whole outfit. To be honest, I felt so sexy and confident that day because of the movement when I paced through the Brisbane streets. It was Anzac day on the 25th so the streets were full of people! Was actually thankful I got to blend in and celebrate the patriotic national holiday :)

For the night, the weather pretty much cooled down but wasn't too bad that I had to put on a jumper. So I went out with the same top, put on a red lip, changed the jeans into this cool perforated skirt and faux leather jacket to add umph. In fact, I just wanted some shape and structure added to the delicate outfit. Its hilarious because that night I went out for dinner alone. Wandered around looking for food and ended up in a place that served good quality food and wine. The security at the front checked IDs to ensure that everyone that dined in were above the age of 18. [Because alcohol served] Well, as usual mine wasn't checked. *laughs* It was an amazing experience sitting on high wooden stools, savouring good food and eaves dropping at the same time :)

26th April
A day full of travelling. It was the day where I head back to Malaysia so all sort of public transport were involved. Well, not literally but I had to take a train back to Gold Coast then transit onto a bus to the airport then obviously a flight back. The 26th was a fun day because it was bloody windy in Brisbane and if you somehow check out my Brisbane Photobook sooner or later, you'll see my hair going all over the place, squinted eyes and tighten face. Haha! Did some last minute shopping at Myer and Target too.

As this post goes up on my blog, it would be the 4th of May already which also means that the battle between Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao would have ended. Full support on Mr Pacquiao!!

Nerd Travels : Food in Sydney // Parisi + Sydney City Weekend OOTD

Just as you thought that you've seen the most beautiful building in your life, another pops up in awe leaving you with a fluttered heart and a teethy wide smile. As I was wandering around Sydney CBD without knowing the directions, I ended up at the end of George Street where the stunning Queen Victoria Building was. Queen Victoria Building houses pretty much all sort of high end brands you could think of, with inspiring interior and warm feeling cafes. I went to Sydney twice during the weekend and walked to Queen Victoria Building two days in a row. [Will write a full post about my 2 days in Sydney, stay tuned.]

On the 2nd day, I wasn't really in the mood to have coffee since I had in the morning [shout out to coffee lovers <3] so I went for a fresh green juice at Parisi. If I am not mistaken, my juice had beetroot, ginger, celery, apple, carrot, kale...was that the whole grocery store?! LMAO :) My juice was tasty and refreshing. Not forgetting to mention the spicy kick from the shredded ginger. *slurps*

Travelling its not always about the food and beverages you take in, but also the energy and inspiration you get from the surrounding and ambiance. Sat there for almost an hour gradually sipping on my healthy drink, looked into the pillars & walls, enjoyed the sun shining through the glass ceiling and watched fashionable people walk pass by. My experience in Sydney was a great one to remember for life and I can't wait to share my 2 days trip with you!

19 April
Felt a little mischievous that day so I bravely went for a print-on-print look. Mixing the 2 classic prints created a very Parisian look and I was obsessed. As I was strutting down the streets and walking cross the road, people stared at me. Not that I was drop dead gorgeous but because of the movement I had on me. Let me tell you, my scarf moved along with the wind and I felt like a super-heroin. On a side note, the weather was so beautiful that day and thankfully it was bloody windy as well <3

Work Ootd - Week 13 // Autumn Fashion

21 & 22 April
Basically a day full of travelling. We headed straight to the airport right after lunch. It was such a chilly day where temperature fell to 12 degrees. It might not sound cold at all but with the strong wind and rain, it was pretty miserable. So as I was getting ready in the morning, I went for stretchy pants, boots, thermal worn underneath my denim shirt and a grey coat. Didn't want to pop on something too casual because we had to make a trip back to the office just to wrap things up before we leave. So all and all, we spent 7 hours travelling, including time we wasted at the airport waiting.

Anyways if you watched the news few day back, a strong wind/typhoon hit New South Wales which was basically where I was, at the Sydney airport. The wind was travelling at 100km/hour and it was too strong for the cabin crew to open the cabin, unload previous flight passengers' luggage and load ours. So our luggage got held overnight at the airport and were scheduled to be sent over to us the next morning. Thankfully our flight wasn't delayed & we landed safely. Well, which also lead to no brushing, no bathing & no changing. So that's why I wore the same outfit for 2 days straight. #YOLO #smellybreathandgreasyhair

Weather was gradually getting hotter in Queensland and it was a little too hot for boots and a thicker top. So on Thursday I wore a nude flowy chiffon blouse paired with a simple blazer and a pop of leopard.

Nerd Travels : Sydney Photobook 1 + weekend ootd

18 April
As promised, this is what I wore to Sydney CBD [Central Business District]. The weather was extremely hot so I went with a simple, classic & flowy skater dress with a checkered flannel just in case the temperature drops unexpectedly. By the way, I said extremely hot because the sweaty pits situation happened lmao :/ I realized people starring at me and thought that maybe I my hair was wonky or my dress got caught in my panties. But in fact, its the way the flannel draped on my body! Thank gawd T_T A lady walked over and asked me where I bought my scarf from so I told her its a long flannel then she gasped. She told me now she knows how to style her masculine flannels :) Pair them with a flirtatious and girly dress like I did!

Actually this could totally pull off as a flannel dress too but for my height its a little too short. See! Versatility matters!

Work ootd - Week 12 // Autumn Fashion

14 April
Felt so lazy to dress up and the weather was quite chilly so I find the easiest way to look put togetehr would be to put on some pants, classic stripe top, simple accessories and messy hair? If you work in a creative environment a red lip would elevate your look but since I work in a more conservative environment, tinted Sugar Lip Balm by Fresh would do.

Top - Zara
Pants - Brandless
Shoes - Zalora.com
Watch - Larsson & Jennings Black Lader
Earrings - Lovisa Blue Jewel Studs

15 April
How I transform an outfit from day to night. I believe the first thing anyone should do before dressing up in the morning is to check the weather forecast. Since the forecast showed 15-25 degrees, I went for a monochromatic yet fun dress with blazer for work. For the night out, I swapped my blazer out for a cool biker jacket and went for black booties and a bright bag. [P/s. I forgotten to actually put on my booties before heading out, therefore my glitter oxfords]

16 April
Fun fact, I have been hitting the gym 3 nights in a row. This would surprise people who have known me for years because if all humans have to be labelled, I would have a 'Couch-Potato' on my forehead. Due to the fact that I didn't want to lug a pair of sport shoes specially for working out [maybe I should next time], I wore my boots to the gym. How fancy...But for sure I removed them prior to working out and only do stretching, scrunches and cycling with my polka dotted socks on. Didn't manage to snap a workout outfit, shall replace next time :)

The weather was relatively hot on Thursday so a black T shirt paired with perforated midi skirt would do the trick! Easy and lightweight enough to strive through the mild weather. Well just in case you are wondering what's in that paper bag, a blogpost about 'the factoria' is already up! [Click Here]

17 April
Such a gloooomy day~ Not trying to be debbie downer :) It was pretty chilly in the morning so I went for a thin flowy marble printed blouse with a structured coat. I believe in order to not look chunky and too clumped up in the colder months, more thoughts are needed to strike a balance between color, fabric and texture. Bought this pair of Jamie jeans before the trip an holy moly, I love it. In fact, this is my 2nd pair of Jamie Jeans! Definitely worth that splurge of money. If you wanna spend more money on a wardrobe staple, I would say go for a pair of jeans that make you look and feel sexy.

TGIF! How are you gonna spend your weekend? I will be making a trip to Sydney CBD. Can't wait to take you along whilst I explore the city :)
