What's In my Travel Makeup Bag + Car accident update

I love travelling and I think almost everyone around me knows. For my last work trip, I downsized my makeup bag and brought only the essentials. However, I ended up using my Tony Moly brow pencil and Fresh Sugar Lip treatment only. Since it was a work trip, I didn't want to overdo anything so I kept it simple and just enough to rock the day.

What I brought:
- Bourjois 123 CC Cream in 32 Beige Clair (Fantastic product with a  medium coverage & most importantly it provides a silky finish)
- Bourjois 123 CC Eye Cream
- Tony Moly Eyebrow Pencil in 02 Black Brown
- Nature Republic Eye Pencil in No 3
- L'Oreal Butterfly Waterproof
- Maybelline the Rocket Volume Express
- Essence Beauty Beats Highlighter
- Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder
- Lush Mint Julip
- Nivea Lip Butter in Raspberry
- Essence XXL Lip gloss in 25 Bright Side of Life
- 20's Factory Orange Lip Tint in No 2
- Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Tulip
- Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss in 111 Kiss of Life

Brought a bold lip option just for those random night outs. Used the Bourjois 123 Eye Cream once only which was on the morning I had a minor hangover hahaha :) Its not necessary for me to powder because it largely depends on where am I and what will I be doing for the rest of the day. If its a colder climate, powder is not needed but if I know I have to go about doing work, I'll just gently sweep on some powder, focusing on ze T zone.

On a side note, I know Innisfree is now available in Malaysia. Tried this powder several times and still cant give an opinion yet. But so far I find it too powdery for my liking. It happened where I ended up with a white cast on my forehead...not cute :/

What are your travel beauty essentials? <3

Update: I had a car accident on the 12th Jan. Thank you for those who asked about me, especially my friend who called all the way from Germany to check me out. To be honest, I feel blessed to be here still. My back tyre exploded and I lost total control over the car. Car crashed.

For the sake of my life, the windows did not shatter, and I was totally unharmed. Sprained my shoulder and neck but what is that in comparison to me losing my life? My friend brought me to the hospital immediately and I got my neck X-rayed. Doctor was afraid I dislocate my neck. Report came out and thank god, it was good news. :)

My parents were not informed because they were on their way back from UK and was already on board. Which led to the reason why I drove a bigger car that day. I know that they have several large luggages with them therefore wanted to pick them up from the airport.

I am still alive because I drove a bigger car. Both airbags ejected and that saved my life. To be honest, I thought I was gone. I choked on smoke and could barely see because my specs fell off. Vision was blur....At that point of time, I could only think of my family..

After the body check-up, my uncle fetched me home. I went to bed after taking my medications. Thankfully I woke up with my parents being at home. I didn't say it out loud so I texted my mum the next day. I told her:

" Mummy, when my car crashed yesterday, I thought I passed away. At that point of time, I could only think of the 3 of you..I have no regrets in my life. I have been to places I wanted to go, said things I wanted to say and I lived my days being happy...The only thing that I can't really let go is the 3 of you..Don't tell me you have never thought I would leave before you because life is unpredictable. People who say this are people who don't appreciate life and who takes life for granted. Nothing lasts forever. Therefore I hope if there is one day where I leave first, I hope the 3 of you can live happily. "

I feel bloody lucky to be able to talk to my family and friends still. Anyways, I hope my little story made you realize the importance of living everyday happily as if its your last. :)

What's in my Shower?

Happy Monday everyone! A little sneak peak of what I use in my Shower. I love the feeling of getting squeaky clean at the end of the day :)

1. Soap n Glory Clean, Girls Body Wash - My favorite scent out of the entire Soap n Glory range! This legit smells like a dreammm. If you're curious, go to Sephora and have a little sniffy sniff. You can now get this on Zalora.com with 15% discount! Use this promo code : ZBAPqLL
2. Michael Todd Tropical Fruit Gentle Exfoliant Scrub
3. L'Oreal Hair Expertise EverSleek - The best shampoo I've tried till date. Luxola doesn't ship this to Malaysia anymore and none of the salons here carry this range of products. So if you are going to Singapore anytime soon, make a visit to Watsons Singapore! (Product Link)
4. Watsons Argan Oil Shampoo - Blogpost alert. In depth review coming up this week!
5. Soap n Glory Peaches and Clean
6. Skinfood Pineapple Peeling Gel
7. Olay Regenerist Megasonic Specialist Cleanser - This is a fraction of the price of the well known Clarisonic. Come on, RM 600 is too much to be spent on a cleansing machine. Perhaps one day in the future I'll get it but for now, This one will do. The brush head does need to be replaced every 3 months. And yes, mine is looking a little brown :/ Gotta replace asap.
8. Soap n Glory The Ultimelt Hot Cloth Cleanser - Review coming up next Friday.
9. John Freida Frizz-Ease Conditioner

What product staple do you have in your shower? <3 Just in case you missed my last post, I blogged about my favorite person of  the week!

Nerdy Shampoo Dilemma

I still cant believe my L'Oreal EverSleek shampoo is out and Luxola stopped shipping this product to Malaysia :c And when I found out that our Watsons don't carry this shampoo line anymore, it felt worst. I'm telling you, it was dramatic = ='

Anyways, I have to wash my hair still...so on Monday, I made a trip to Watsons and scouted around like a hyena looking for THE perfect dupe of my EverSleek T_T As you can tell in the picture above, I found the replacement that not only has the similar properties, but also the similar colour hahaha!

This Watsons Argan Oil Shampoo is also free from Paraben, Mineral Oil, Silicone, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Colorant. I'll give this a go! Hopefully this is as good as EverSleek or better :) And if this doesn't work, I'll have to pick up a few tubes of the EverSleek when I visit Singapore soon!

Nerd Reviews : L'Oreal Butterfly Waterproof Mascara

Finally I'm giving this Mascara an honorable blog post. I bought mine at Olive Young in Seoul because at that point of time, Malaysia didn't stock it yet and echemist.com sells the non-waterproof version only. Good news for all Malaysians because it is now available at any Watsons and priced at Rm49 after discount.

The Butterfly mascara has a rather fat packaging, a weird wonky rubber wand and also a slightly wet formula. To be honest, I was worried because wetter formula tends to weigh my lashes, making them droopy. Generally, mascara works better after being opened for 1 month. This is because the formula and texture of the mascara will dry up a tad bit, making it  less heavy for the lashes. However, this one worked wonders on my lashes the first day I used it!

Initially, the famous and unconventional wand intimidated me because I have Asian eyes and the wand looked a little too sharp and huge for small eyeballs! :) But after several uses, I find the wand wonderful because it's shaped in a way to catch all of our tiny outer lashes and make them flutter out like a Butterfly.

In terms of removability, the product do need a little more effort to remove. I use an oil based eye makeup remover from skin food. Just soak a cotton pad and place it on my eyeballs for about 10-15 secs in order to remove the product entirely. Since I use waterproof mascara most of the time, I'm okay with the time spent.

This mascara provides sufficient volume and length to the lashes. Most importantly, it doesn't smudge on me! Definitely the best one I've tried so far. If you see me with 'smokey' eyes one day, 100% I'm not wearing this.

I snapped a few pictures of me with the mascara on so that you can see how the mascara works on me.

Fresh Lashes

One coat of L'Oreal Butterfly Mascara

Two coats of L'Oreal Butterfly mascara

No bottom lash mascara

Bottom lashes coated with Clinique lash power

Its not easy & comfortable to take a picture that close...at least for me. But what other ways to show damn lashes right? I will definitely repurchase this mascara in the future! But in the meanwhile, I'm eye-ing on a mascara from Tarte :p

By the way, the best shot of my life is below. Gotta sacrifice for my blog. =/ Don't laugh.

Product Empties Part I

October is finally here and....*drum rolls* its time for an installment of product empties collected throughout the past 9 months! Some of them I loved and repurchased but some of them didn't really work for me. Long post ahead haha!

1. John Freida Frizz Ease Hair Serum - This is my favorite hair serum till date as it has an insignificant scent and worked really well taming my frizzy Asian hair up to 8 hours a day. If you live in the UK, John Freida can be found at any Boots outlet or even online. However if you are a fellow Malaysian like me, try asking your friends in the UK for a favor ^_^

2. Soap & Glory Scrub Em and Leave Em Body Buff - The scrub does work pretty well but I cant say its the best I have tried. Not my favorite scent from Soap & Glory. Plus, the granules are pretty coarse causing the scrub to 'fall' off my body when I exfoliate. Good news for us pretty Malaysians because you can find Soap & Glory at all Sephora outlets. (or boots.com)

3. Soap & Glory Flake Away Body Scrub - I love this! The smell is great, consistency is thick enough to work it in and skin feels luxurious after each use. Get it and let me know if you like it! (or boots.com)

4. Batiste Dry Shampoo in Medium & Brunette - Very useful product for lazy days which is most of the days. Haha.

5. L'Oreal Hair Expertise EverCreme -  My favorite from the range, currently running low on the 2nd tube already! I've tried EverRiche and EverStrong but neither control my flyaway and frizziness as good as this one. Hair feels 'in-place'. Bought mine from Luxola.

6. L'Oreal Hair Expertise EverStrong - Overall a good shampoo. Hair feels clean and shiny but EverCreme provides the same effect with extra softness added to the hair.

7. Rexona Deodorant in Shower Clean

8. St Ives Shower Gel in Mineral Therapy - Nothing special. Does not moisturize my skin as much as I want it to. Bought mine from Watsons.

9. Michael Todd True Organics Blur Green Algae Toner - This is my 2nd bottle and I have one more to go in my beauty closet. It was a favorite of mine but I find it pretty drying on my skin recently as my skin has became less oily. You can get it here or mysale.my

10. Essence Eyeliner - I used this to tight line. Good product but it dried out quite fast.

11. Maybelline Mineral Concealer in 02 - Not a fan of the light coverage that does nothing to the dark circles and it creased so badly :c

12. 17 Oil-control Makeup Remover - Worked really well removing waterproof mascara, no oily residue plus its affordable! Bought mine at Boots Thailand during the Buy 1 Free 1 sale.

13. Essence Multi Action Waterproof Mascara - Gave me good amount of volume but definitely not waterproof and dried out so fast.

14. Essence Stay No Matter What Mascara - Favorite out of the whole essence mascara range! Volume it gave was like falsies. The down side is that it smudged on me :c If you do not have oily eyelids like me, I recommend you give this gem a try. Can be found at Watsons.

15. L'Oreal Gentle Eye and Lips Makeup Remover -  Did nothing removing anything. Not even concealer underneath my eyes.

16. Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel - Loved it but currently obsessing over my Khiels gel moisturizer. Not gonna repurchase anytime soon.

17. Michael Todd True Organics Honey n Oat Cleanser - Great great great cleanser. Does not dry out the skin, removes face makeup beautifully and most importantly it doubles up as a brush cleanser! Get it here or mysale.my

18. 17 Doll'd up Mascara - Does not hold a curl so what I did was applying it to my bottom lashes.

That's all for this installment of trash review :) Let me know what products you have used up and still love <3
