Challenge of the day was to incorporate my new $4 top into the current work wardrobe and oh was it unexpectedly easy! Wore it with loose straight cut pants, gladiator heels and minimal accessories. Throw on a black woolen coat for formality & extra drama or a leather jacket for sassy night outs. Bring me more projects and meetings because I'm ready to take on the day feeling like a glamorous table cloth. Haha jokes :)

Nerd Travels // Singapore Part 2

I don't think I mentioned in my previous Singapore travel post but dang my friend is an amazing photographer. She told me about proportions & lighting and you could tell through the pictures that her skills are bomb diggity. 

Not trying to be negative nancy but Haji Lane was a minor disappointment. Where were the gorgeous street art?! There were a few but not up to our expectations. And why were there green trash cans every stone's throw away? I think we saw 50. No joke.  

If you have been to Haji Lane, please let me know if there are several other 'Lanes' around or did we go to the wrong one? Have you been to Singapore before? Let me know :)

Inspirational Monday

Two weeks back we drove down South for a little family gathering and time off from the hustle and bustle. Came back feeling extra energized and here I am sending a ray of positive energy *zapzap* I love how minimal I'm getting in terms of style and life [Inspired by Caroline from un-fancy.com]. Mostly life in general. Starting to feel 'un-burdened' and 'worry-free' after throwing everything outside the door. Not literally but yeah pretty much 60% gone. 

Feeling inpired by classic pieces with an edge. Black and white have started creeping into me. Ooops. Have a wonderful start to the week people! Oh and what's your favourite colour?

Food In Melbourne // Market Lane Coffee

Market Lane Coffee.

A full time instagram user would have heard of the oh-so-famous MLC. Situated in the heart of Queen Victoria Market, the laid-back coffee shop has it personal vibes that stands out in a subtle way. Very minimal & humble indeed. Did some coffee research and after 10 mins of professional scribbles, we manage to draw down a short list and MLC was right on top!

Ordered Cappucino as usual but this time round, accompanied by a side of Blueberry pastry. To my disappointment, the coffee was just alright. Tasted better ones in Melbourne therefore MLC's version of Cappucino did not rock my socks. But. Oh. My Gawd. Fresh blueberries on flakey pastry goodness was so delicious. The unexpected explosion and juicy surprise made my day :)

Have never been a berry person but since that day onwards, I ventured out into berries from different colours to sizes. I guess that's what life is. Sometimes we've just got to take the plunge and then realize: " That wasn't that bad too huh ". Thank you for reading beautiful and Happy Friday!

Nerd Travels // Singapore Part 1

Let's take a break from all the Tassie goodness shall we? Bought an air ticket, arranged accommodation with cuzzie then off I went to Singapore. Haven't been to the Financial hub since 4 years back. Oh~ Those were the days when I was still a university student. Wanted to make time for my family in Singapore and dear friend whom I missed like cray. Wasn't planning for intense island exploration, shopping or gourmet dining experience with fancy dinner dress and stilettos. That would be perfect but with the weakening currency, I wish.

There were several places I wanted to strike off my <Singapore Travel List> so badly. So that's where we went!

The weather was hot and stuffy so lame hair and oily face was part and parcel. Not to complain, but being out the whole day in that weather was kinda challenging. Imagine how sticky we were by midnight! Flies and falling leaves could literally stick on us if the wind blew. Okay, I was exaggerating. Haha. You could tell through my face above.

Lucky enough, there was an ongoing "Light fest" where buildings light up from 19:00 till 00:00. Moving light graphics could be found at most corners. Chilled around town, watched live performance by  <<The Lost Box>> and sipped on some cool beer. Life.

Missing London. 

Let's usher through the new month with positivity & happiness. Just wondering, has anyone started preparing for Christmas? Or is it just me. Let's be real.

What To Pack // Autumn In Europe

Just only came back from a 2 weeks long Europe trip so thought I'd share my capsule wardrobe. What key pieces I brought with me and how I played with the minimal items that I had. Let's get started. Like I insist [or Oscar Wilde], you can never be overdressed or overeducated. I don't do touristy outfits firstly because sticking out like a sore thumb isn't at all safe and secondly because I wanna look fabulous. Not that I'm against fannypacks, colourful snapbacks and windbreakers. 

If you fancy, consider blending in the crowd. For example if your destination is Paris, avoid busting out those slippers/thongs/birks. Respect the culture. This time I'm conquering London, Berlin and Amsterdam. Therefore the items picked out were more down to earth, casual and muted. 

This is a complete list of what pieces I brought:

Believe me that the limited pieces I brought is sufficient for a month long trip! I suggest taking long sleeve tops and pajama bottoms that are fashion friendly in order to multiply their usage for a casual day outfit, travelling outfit [on the plane] or just as pajamas. Packed one sleeveless top solely because I know that there will be warmer Autumn days & can be layered under sweaters for extra warmth when the temperature drops.

What I normally do is, I'll preplan all outfits, snap a picture, refer to the coordinated outfits before getting dressed in the morning to save time and lastly delete the picture after the outfit has been worn. No fuss :)

In addition, a light weight + compact waterproof jacket that can be worn for ad hoc morning walks or as a layering piece for extra warmth. This capsule I created could easily be strecthed out further. After all, my 23" suitcase was only half full and that only means more room for shopping.

Nerd Travels // Tasmania Day 7 + Day 8

Day 7

So guys, Ms.Nerdy heard about MONA [Museum of Old and New Art] through travel blogs. Felt intrigued so without even hesitating, I bought a pass [Ferry tickets + Museum Pass] in advance and went solo. To be honest, I was extremely excited about the fact that I'm going to an artsy place. Like for once not spending my time in the supermarket comparing prices of chocolate chip cookies, manufacturing dates of peanut butter and wandering on the streets like a homeless person. No judgments people!

Visit to the museum was something way out of my comfort zone. Thought I could do art museums in the dark but not till I accidentally bumped into an Eypyptianmummycasket thangthatmademelosemysoul. Phew~

After visiting, my instinct told me to get a bottle of beer and dessert. So that's what I did! Moo brew beer and chocolate eclairs on the roof top garden of MONA with seaview and flying seagulls. #diva

Day 8

Hobart > Melbourne

Final day in Tassie. Urgh don't wanna leave...but a girl's gotta do what she's gotta do. Packed up, went for the final breakfast at <Machine Laundry Cafe> then headed straight to the airport. [Food review here]

I've been to Melbourne in year 2014. Melbourne looks the same but weirdly enough, everything felt different to me. Last year I was in the midst of graduating, had little-to-none worries, was in a stable relationship, had a dream, was jobless and had no idea where my direction was career wise. Basically a zero. As at today, everything has changed. I'm single, financially sufficient, have a vision, been to several countries I've not step foot in and ultimately started my career and a blog that I feel blessed about. 

Travelling makes me think of what I've had and what I have. What about you? Also, how gorgeous is my faux fur scarf from Asos.com?
